Prof. Rajendra P. Shrestha is the Dean of School of Environment, Resources and Development (SERD), at AIT and the co-founder of Ostrom Center for Study of Natural Resources Governance (OCeAN). Prof. Shrestha is a full-professor in the field of Natural Resources Management (NRM) at SERD, AIT.
He has more than 20 years of experience in teaching the postgraduate students’ and guiding postgraduate research – 22 PhD and 80 Master’s students have graduated under his guidance. He also holds 6 years of experience in undergraduate teaching. His major areas of research interest include: understanding human dimension of land use/cover change, and links between land use, climate and food security. He has previously worked for the Government of Nepal, and the UNEP. His research collaborations also extend to a number of international organizations like FAO, UNDP, SIDA, GIZ, IUCN, public and private sector and universities.
Prof. Shrestha has completed 29 sponsored research projects as a “Principal Investigator”. He has published more than 70 international peer reviewed journal articles, 5 co-edited books, 19 author-co-authored book chapters, 56 articles conference proceedings as well served as editorial member of 5 journals and r Reviewer of 40 different journals
