Rajendra P. Shrestha is the Director of the Ostrom Center for Study of Natural Resources Governance (OCeAN). He specializes in the field of Natural Resources Management (NRM).
He has more than 20 years of experience in teaching the postgraduate students’ and guiding postgraduate research – 22 Ph.D and 80 Master’s students have graduated under his guidance. He also holds 6 years of experience in undergraduate teaching. His major areas of research interest include: understanding human dimension of land use/cover change, and links between land use, climate and food security. He has previously worked for the Government of Nepal, and the UNEP. His research collaborations also extend to a number of international organizations like FAO, UNDP, SIDA, GIZ, IUCN, public and private sector and universities.
He has completed 29 sponsored research projects as a “Principal Investigator”. He has published more than 70 international peer reviewed journal articles, 5 co-edited books, 19 author-co-authored book chapters, 56 articles conference proceedings as well served as editorial member of 5 journals and Reviewer of 40 different journals
